Public Safety Report March 18 – April 5

3/18/18

  • A Resident Student reports receiving harassing social media messages

3/19/18

  • Seven resident students and two students were smoking marijuana in a Residence Hall, causing a yellow fire alarm. One nonresident student was in possession of a large pocket knife. One nonresident student was mental hygiene arrested and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital due to being in and out of consciousness
  • A student’s mother called Public Safety to check on her daughter
  • A student reported off campus and possible on campus issues with another student
  • Public Safety responded to a two car motor vehicle accident on Campus Drive at entrance/exit C
  • Arrest made for damaging property
  • A resident student and his non-student ex-girlfriend had a verbal argument in Canal Hall

3/20/18

  • A racially sensitive piece of graffiti was found
  • An MCC staff member received a suspicious phone call from a former student
  • Two MCC students (sisters) had a verbal altercation in the area of 3-125
  • A student was seen taking a bottle of juice from Sodexo without paying for it
  • A student at the Downtown Campus complained that another student made her uncomfortable by touching her without permission
  • An employee became alarmed when her office area was keyed open

3/21/18

  • Two students overheard a racial comment on campus
  • Public Safety responded to a report of graffiti in a men’s bathroom in Bldg. 4
  • A resident student refused to follow policy on signing in guests

3/22/18

  • A resident student caused a red fire alarm in a Residence Hall
  • Title IX investigation
  • A student feels threatened by another student
  • A faculty member received a suspicious phone call
  • Trash and paper towels were thrown around the men’s bathroom by an unknown person
  • A resident student triggered red fire alarm due to smoking in a suite

3/23/18

  • A student stole multiple clothing items from the Bookstore
  • A residence student stole food from Sodexo in the Marketplace
  • A U-Haul truck became stuck in the grass causing damage
  • 3/24/18
  • A student deposited bad checks off campus
  • An MCC student believes he was issued a bad check

3/27/18

  • A student involved in a larceny from the marketplace
  • Public Safety responded to an MVA in Lot J involving a college-owned vehicle
  • A current resident student left the shower running causing damage to college property

3/28/18

  • An employee was found to be in possession of a green leafy substance
  • A student became loud and irate and was escorted out of the Downtown Campus

3/29/18

  • Suspicious letters found in the women’s restroom
  • A student reports damage to his vehicle
  • Feces was found on a toilet seat and on the walls

3/30/18

  • Resident student reported a small amount of cash taken from her suite in Canal Hall
  • An employee reported that there are racial and sexist markings located in the library

4/3/18

  • Student reports her check stolen and deposited by another student

4/4/18

  • Employee wanted the action of another employee documented

4/5/18

  • A student was observed vaping in the area of Bldg. 9
